Nubis launch new Motorised Door Containment Solution

In the interests of providing additional technology to support containment solutions, Nubis Solutions are pleased to announce the launch of the new motorised door containment solution. This solution can be integrated in to existing solutions and supplied with new containment packages. This has been designed to add security to the individual aisles as well as provide an ease of entry whilst working with heavy items. The solution is controlled via an integral track motor which can be operated with all forms of access control. This is supplied in its standard format with a push button entry system on the front and rear of the doors, however this could be partnered with an electronic keypad or proximity card solution. The design … Continue reading

Nubis Solutions supports the European Union Code of Conduct for Data Centre Efficiency and is awarded Endorser status

The European Union Joint Research Commission programme is a voluntary Code of Conduct to raise awareness of the opportunities for energy and cost efficiency that can be realised within the data centre. The Code of Conduct has been created in response to increasing energy consumption in data centres and the need to reduce the related environmental, economic and energy supply demands. The aim is to inform and stimulate data centre operators and owners to reduce energy consumption in a cost-effective manner without hampering the mission critical function of data centres. The Code of Conduct aims to achieve this by improving understanding of energy demand within the data centre, raising awareness, and recommending energy efficient best practice and targets. Endorsers are … Continue reading

Read our recent interview with The Hot Aisle. December 2009

“Nubis make demountable Aisle Containment systems – they don’t care if it is Hot or Cold Aisle – the objective is to stop the air mixing. Aisle containment has a number of well known issues mainly around safety and fire supression. Steve has a design that is optimised to get out of the way of fire detection and fire supression systems with two drop-down roof panel options ; Fusible Link and Water Soluble. It is often the case that existing water-based fire suppression systems must be extended through the roof panels into the aisle to be effective, creating additional work, cost and disruption within a highly sensitive area of the business. Nubis recognises that in existing data centres enterprises want … Continue reading

Data Centre Cooling Power

Cooling of the Data Centre is widely recognised as the largest energy loss in the facility and as such represents a significant opportunity to improve efficiency. Improving air flow management is a key element to reducing power consumption from data centre cooling. The objective of air flow management is to minimise bypass air, which returns to the CRAC units without performing cooling and the resultant recirculation and mixing of cool and hot air increasing equipment intake temperatures. To compensate, CRAC unit air supply temperatures are frequently reduced or air flow volumes increased, which has an energy penalty. Addressing these issues will deliver more uniform equipment inlet temperatures and allow set points to be increased (with the associated energy savings) without … Continue reading

Uniform and Non-Uniform Cabinets. September 2009

We tailor make each part of the solution to match your needs; whether the cabinets are of a uniform size or height, different models or different manufacturers we can design a system to suit. We can also accommodate uneven aisles widths and lengths giving you a complete solution from start to finish.
